Definition
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a type of cardiomyopathy caused by asymmetric hypertrophy (commonly the septal wall) causing an occlusion at the aortic outlet.
Etiology- Genetic: Autosomal dominant mutation of myocyte sarcomeres
